I'm not sure I'd want to draw the Barry Flash, he's just not that exciting a character to me. I'lll have to see what Francis and Brian do with him.
I know several of the DC higher up are aware of my love for the Flash cause I do pester them now and then;) I believe Francis and Brian have 25 issues planned...
I want to -respectfully- say that I think Francis and Brian are doing amazing things with the Barry "Flash" title, and I don't think it's your style, Brett. You know - I've said - how many napkins I go through drooling over your art, so I'm not saying you're not good enough, not at all.
I rather think you should wait to see what Geoff Johns's cryptic response of "Keep reading..." means, in regards to someone asking about Wally West.
THAT'S the one for you. Maybe he'll appear in Earth-2, and then maybe you'll end up drawing for JSA later. Who knows? To be honest, I'm LOVING Teen Titans right now, and you and the others are doing fantastic.
I agree with you:) A good writer will play to the artists strengths, and certain artist are a better fit for certain characters. A good editor will see that, and move his 'player's around accordingly.
Honestly I wouldn't really be interested in a Barry book unless it was with a writer I really wanted to work with who really wanted to take the character in a really different direction. I'm not saying Francis and Brian aren't doing an excellent job with the writing, I think Francis and Brian have re-created a sort of modernized Carmine Infantino Flash. It's just not a good fit for for my style.
I have actually talked to James about doing an arc on JSA at some point, the designs I've seen are really cool:)
I might have exaggerated a bit for the comedy, but I'm not going to be on the cover to mens health anytime in the near future, I seem to be missing some abs;)
Awesome!
ReplyDeleteI know Francis Manapul is doing killer work on Flash, but has DC caught on to the fact you are perfect for the gig?
