The guy's a hottie, too, at least until he gets fried by a bolt from above. Kind of surprised that's not how the video for "Craig" ended.
(He kept staring out at the crowd. Was he waiting for someone to get so offended they'd throw a beer bottle?)
This was a lot easier to get through than the comments from last week's question about one's chosen faith. I'm not sure what I should have learned from that, except I think the Shroud of Turin proves that the alien followers are correct, because who else would have lasers in the 14th century, right? :)
Totally cannot understand the first guy and I think it is telling that the second song is a fictitious mockery. Jesus' brothers and sisters are mentioned in the Bible, none are listed as Craig.
Matthew 13:55
"Is not this the carpenter's son? is not his mother called Mary? and his brethren, James, and Joses, and Simon, and Judas?"
Matthew 27:56
"Among which was Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James and Joses, and the mother of Zebedee's children."
I actually had been studying James, Jesus brother and his role in the early church. Catholicism used to hold Mary had no other children and tried to change the scripture to fit that. Does anyone know if they still do? Anyways if you want to read about Jesus' real brother check out James.
He started out as an unbeliever, that his half brother Jesus was the Messiah, and eventually became a follower, wrote a book of the Bible and was martyred for his faith.
Seriously, the Catholic church tried to retcon out James? Yikes.
I think part of the joke of the "Craig" song is that this brother probably wouldn't have been acknowledged by his own family, much less included in the Bible.
He also does a funny D&D song, a song about the special olympics and dating a Nazi. Some really bad superheroes and dating only black girls. It's just for fun, don't read into it.
Seriously, he contradicts himself all the time, it's just silly fun songs.
Exactly. Look, surely God can take a joke right? I mean, why else create Creationists, Intelligent designers and Atheists, among so many other groups? Besides being a bi-polar crazy dude, God has a sense of humour.
Like I mention often, just like everyone else mentions their beliefs, I believe in a deity, but one with a sense of humour. Stephen Lynch is a theist, even if he no longer practises his Catholicism.
Hilarious!

It's the same guy singing both songs, isn't it?
Yep, both are by Stephen Lynch.
