I just imagined a room full of people doing a double-take and gasping. :D Brett and Steve are the resident Dino-it-all's around here so they can expound, but yes some Dinosaurs had feathers.
Yes, maybe not all but some. Mostly on the theropod line. We know animals like velociraptor has pin feathers based on attachment point on the arm bones, just like modern birds. Then there are the hundreds of feathered dinosaur fossils that have been found in Liaoning China. And it now looks like Archeopteryx is not a bird but a maniraptor theropod like velociraptor. Closely related to Microraptor.
The line between bird and dinosaur is so blurred now its hard to tell weather one is a bird and on eis a dinosaur:)
I forgot to add. Jess, love your color work. Your colors blend so well with Brett's lines and the colors are always so rich. That being said, maybe it's just my monitor but the colors always come across as a little too dark. I usually have to zoom in to really see all the detail and nuances of what you did. I just feel everything would pop more if it were a tad brighter. Just my two cents :D
A great scientist and tax law expert named Kent Hovind said all the animals, including dinosaurs, were vegetarian until Eve got Adam to eat that fruit. Then they started eating meat!
Several of my friends are in the process of reporting him for this theft as we speak. He has taken from other artists as well, claiming the images to be of his own work and selling them as commissions.
I have seen that! Looks good! The dinosaurs are a bit to croc like and some of the anatomy is wrong (ankles and bunny hands!) but it looks WAY better than the guy who replaced me on G.I. Combats dinosaurs.
Did Dinos have feathers?

Best!

Cool. My last bio class was back in high school, I went physics and engineering so the advancement with fossils has passed me by.

Chris,
ReplyDeleteTHis was a more painted look, so the line art is supposed to drop out some:)
Scottie,
We all know Kent Hovind speaks only the truth! His source is infallible!
Thanks Tanya! I have also reported him.
Best,
Brett

ReplyDeleteHave you seen this new Dinosaus vs. Aliens graphic Novel?
The Rexes are a little too stocky for my tastes (but comics aren't supposed to be 100% accurate), but it still looks awesome!
ps: Kent Hovind speaks fro Kent Hovind, not all Christians
Steve,

I how MBecks14 sees that! LOL!
Joke Steve, JOKE.

Brett
