Vampire woman

I also have 2 pages I drew with her on them. I lost interest, it happens. I wanted to do a series of short stories but my inspiration/muse seems to have dried up. It's just as well, I wasn't looking forward to writing it. I'll upload them soon.

The camera Jess ordered should be here on Tuesday (the first one was lost in the mail, thanks USPS! So we had to wait to 'make sure'.) I ordered a new computer yesterday but that's been a complete cock-up so I have to reorder the damn thing hopefully today. This one's been shutting off for no reason... ugh!

Best,

Brett

Sounds like your hard drive is crappng out on you. Or it's over heating. Depends on how old it is.

Great artwork. I hope you have all your stuff backed up.

What do you think is the state of comic book industry in San Diego County today?

Here's my ability:
http://pnhassett.blogspot.com

I've always thought about trying to enter into the comic book industry, but never had the confidence or contacts.

Keep in mind I'm not some upstart 20 year old kid, but I think my ability is going beyond that of a fan.

I remember Jessica Ruffner giving a photoshop coloring demo at Jay Schultz's class at Palomar College, so I've always had this thought in the back of my mind to pursue comic book/storyboarding....but there's a certain amount of initiative and aggression that I have to put my head around.

Thanks

Crow, I think it's the power adapter doo dad. Since it's a mac it's got that magnetic piece which I think is just sick of being unplugged, since we don't have a working battery anymore any disruption in power turns the thing off. It's been Ok this last weekend so hopefully it just needed to be cleaned. The keyboard not working is a real pain. A new computer has been ordered and will be here tomorrow:)

Paul,

I really like your stuff, I passed it along to the editors I work with.

You don't need to look just at San Diego for comic work. I work for 2 companies, one it Georgia and the other in New York. But Wildstorm is still there as well as IDW. I'm not sure how well either are doing since I don't follow the industry anymore. You're totally ready for pro work in this field. I really like your monster designs;)

Best,

Brett

Thanks!

That's a lot more encouragement I got from Palomar College.

Here's one of my instructors at Palomar College, she graduated from Art Center:

The teachers at Palomar College don't seem to encourage comic book, storyboarding or character design.

I've been attending these schools for the past 2 years as well though:

Costs a little more then community college, but I think it's worth it.

Thanks again!

Paul,

Ah the dislike of 'funny books', I know it well. Of course it could be the ' Art Whore' thing as well. For some reason no one ever seems to think that movies and TV shows need storyboards, characters designs, costume designs. Comics are now a fertile ground for movie ideas. I still don't know why it's so looked down on. Some people like to draw feeling and emotions and are one with their art, blah blah blah. Others like me like to tell stories, you can't do that with a painting no matter what the art posers think;)

Keep it up, you have talent, you're father along than I was at 20.

Send me an email so I can pass the address along to the editors:)

Best,

Brett

I get plenty of spam anyway, so I don't mind.
