Circus of the Damned in May

ANITA BLAKE: CIRCUS OF THE DAMNED—THE INGENUE #5 (of 5)
Written by Laurell K. Hamilton & Jess Booth
Pencils by Ron Lim
Cover by Brett Booth
FROM BESTSELLING AUTHOR LAURELL K. HAMILTON: A new series of vampire attacks have kept Anita’s hands full. This time, it seems that this is the work of a pack of vampires instead of a lone predator – and they’ve been after Anita for the name of the Master of the City, but she won’t give up Jean-Claude. But will protecting Jean-Claude cost her something more dear?

Detailed Layouts

A few months ago I was asked by my buddies at SeaLion to do a few pages of detailed layouts to help out. This is the result.

It was pointed out to me that I haven't posted any new art. Well I've only had time to do JLA and that Green Lantern cover and I can't post that yet;)

Anywho, I'm on to the big push to get 55 done so I'll be fairly busy these next 10 days. But I do have some more of these so if I go quiet just remind me to post more;)

Old sketch

An old character design for Magicians Apprentice, a King I believe. Colors by Jess.

Working hard on JLA so nothing really new. I'm hoping to get the X-mas card/image done this weekend, but we'll see how that goes.

Character Sketch

Well I finished the PowerGirl/ Huntress story yesterday. So now I'm just waiting for the Larfleeze script and another script for another one shot. I wish I could post some art but I can't until it ships or they post it on one of the news sites, which they might not do. So I'll try to do a few sketches this week. And maybe finish up that robot design I did. But for now, a character design I drew a month ago.

The Red Pyramid... sketches.

Most of you know I'm a big Percy Jackson fan, so when the author of that series did a new series called The Red Pyramid I was all over it! It has lots of action/adventure and mythology! I don't really care that they are young adult, like the Harry Potter books these are fun for everyone. So while I was workless I drew up some sketches that I forgot to post!

Pardon our dust!

Sorry I haven't been keeping up with the blog this week, BUSY! Let's see. I'll have some new sketches up tomorrow. I have found some other work, a few 8 page stories that I'll hold off on reviling for a bit, but some of you will be happy;) I'd scan tonight but Jess needs the space to make dog food, plus I wanted to get another sketch done. So tomorrow look for Power Girl, the Huntress and the Scarecrow... ooohhhh! Spooky yes?

And what is this image? I don't think I can say yet. But it's neat, yes?

Brett

October books!

Vampire Huntress 4, Mmmm... Vampire Hunters smell like chicken!

Repost of the Fool Moon cover. Looks like it will finally come out! I saw the colors for the first 5 pages of Storm Front 7. Fricken SWEET! I'll put them up when I'm able to:)

Mr. Oliver from Anita Blake fame

Also known as the Earth Mover. A character design for the Circus of the Damned #9 cover.

More stuff soon. Have to get a Dresden cover done tomorrow. Then hopefully I'll be left alone to get some more Dresden pages done.

Kelly Armstrong Sketches

She doesn't smoke, but I thought it was funny and was reminded of old Hollywood.
Second version, had to make a few changes to her hair and had to make her less angsty.

First one I did awhile ago.

Circus of the Damned #3, Werewolf and Backlash 12 cover backside!

Hmmm, I think this might be a bit dark on here. Circus of the Damned #3 cover featuring Richard. ETA: Yes, it was very dark so I fixed it. ~Jess

Quick sketch of 'wolfen' style werewolf. I can't mention what it's for yet.

The flip side of the Backlash 12 cover featuring Serge and Machinot ( I think it's spelled this way Mokinaught,) with Lilitu and her man servant guy, Jess says his name starts with a 'Z'. Thanks to Mondo for scanning and sending this to me:)

More stuff soon. I have like 4 more Stargate covers and 5 more Anita covers that are done.

Brett

Pterosaur guy

NOT a Dinosaucer, but a regular anthro that I did a few years ago. Notice that it's much cooler;)

I just finished the last Percy Jackson book. It did not disappoint! Unlike a lot of books now a days that have final battles that end in 20 pages, this ending took half book. Fricken awesome! I'm even more pissed I can't draw it now!

Best,

Brett
