Lilith and the Watchmen

A character design for the new Vampire Huntress project. Lilith, of Old Testament fame. She's actually wearing a Sumerian headpiece under the hood. They usually had one breast exposed back in those days but I thought I better not try that;)

Anyways, lots of buzz for this new Watchmen movie... I don't understand it myself, unlike the rest of the comic world I didn't like the comic. I basically just looked at the pictures for the last issue, it just wasn't/isn't what I like to read. I keep hearing how good it's going to be... ah, it hasn't come out yet. It might be bad like Transformers or Sin City (I didn't like the comic either. In fact I MUCH prefer his old DareDevil stuff to anything recent. I have nothing against these guys personally I just didn't like these projects. It happens. I preferred the first issue of CyberForce to Wildcats.) I'm all for comic books being made into movies, in fact I hope they all do well. Who knows they might eventually make a Backlash movie;)

Morality test

I found this on Pharyngula today, it's a test to see if your personal morals match up with those of the bible:
Your morality is 0% in line with that of the bible.

Damn you heathen! Your book learnin' has done warped your mind. You shall not be invited next time I sacrifice a goat.

Do You Have Biblical Morals?
Take More Quizzes

Mine... well they didn't match. In fact I got a 0%! I must be an evil, evil person;) take the test and see how you match up with the Bible.

On another note, I saw Religulous this weekend. Very funny, I quite enjoyed it. I learned a few things I didn't know. The Jesus story is just a modified version of the Horus story. It was mostly just funny, but if you do get it, watch the deleted scenes!

There is also a section on the Muslim religion, basically in a nutshell if you ask a Muslim about the religion they will say it's a religion of peace, but in reality it's a warrior religion. This does make a bit of sense for all the desert religions, as they are some of the first people who send death threats when others disagree with them or when they feel like their religion is being assulted. Doesn't sound very peacful to me;) Now if you'll admit that you've modified your religion to only include the good/peaceful parts then that's cool, but then you can't go and claim 'God Hates Fags' and other unpeacful crap. Please keep in mind they were written by goat hearders. Would you belive a goathearder over say, a scientist who's studied the Earths past or another smart person? I think not...

New Project: L. A. Banks Vampire Huntress

Colors by Andrew Dalhouse.

Colors by me.

Brett will be doing a new four issue mini-series with author L. A. Banks, featuring her Vampire Huntress, Damali. This is a new, original story you can only get in the mini-series. Art by Brett and Andrew Dalhouse. The first issue will ship sometime this summer.

Meat is Murder

Damn, this funny. The text is almost as funny as the shirt. Too bad I didn't find them before they were sold out!

Interesting article on evolution

I happened across this today. An article on Yahoo about transitional fossils, I'm usually up on most of this but I didn't know about the manatee one, cool!

About this beastie, earlier this decade 2 skeletons were found together, a ceratopsian and a tyrannosaur. The ceretopsian seems to be laying on top of the meat eater. Teeth from said meat eater were found inside the skeleton for the ceretopsian. Is this another similar find to the famous fighting dinosaurs of mongolia? I drew a quick sketch of the tyrannosaur. The species has not been said but it wasn't very large, only 20 feet... Nanotyrannus?

My head has been killin gme all weekend so I haven't been able to stay online, read or work. It seems OK righ tnow but I'm off, I don't want to chance it!

Brett

Comments are Fixed

I could not figure out how to get the same page comments to fit properly and not cut off your comment on the right side while typing, so I changed the comments entirely. NOTE: I do not care if you comment anonymously but you must sign a name. Doesn't have to be your real name, just put a name on there. If I get a bunch of junk comments or rude ones I will set it so you cannot post anonymously.

A few more pulled from DA

Someone requested this one so here it is.
And then one Jess colored real quick to show the colorists at WS what we wanted... they didn't really listen.

Happy Sex Tax Day!

So I was listening to the radio yesterday and this guy was on talking about getting guys to boycott V-Day. Basically his point was that buy getting your special someone a special gift and basically only getting sex IF that gift is received, we are paying 'a sex tax' (oh and everyone who refuses to have sex with their partner without the gift is a prostitute, his words.)

I thought this first image was funny:)
And not to be outdone I did one myself. It's more pinky in photoshop. Don't worry it's just a hue change on an additional channel the original coloring is fine:)

I saw Animal Armageddon the other day, not bad. I only complained once but then they covered that so it was MUCH better than Morphed. I also saw Dollhouse last night. I wasn't really impressed but I'll give it a few episodes, I'm a big Firefly fan along with Buffy and Angel so I'm hoping this show will pick up!

Oh and for a few of the locals, Happy Balentimes Day!

The Hero Factory

You can make your own super-hero. I thought it was cute, even if the choice of bottoms is rather poor. I wanted big clunky boots but you can't get just the boots. Here's mine:

I'm shiny!

Happy Darwin Day!

Today is the 200th anniversary of the birth of Charles Darwin, and the 150th anniversary of the release of his book 'On the Origin of Species.' There are a bunch of events going on all over the world, even at churches (despite that most people think, a lot of religious people believe in both the bible AND evolution.) So raise your glass to honor a great mind from days past!

I can't remember what this guy is called, but it's a recent find of a giant (23 feet) 'raptor' from South America. Note the tiny arms and long head.

Harpy Eagleman

There's always some shmutz that I can't see in photoshop. Anyways, a harpy eagle anthro:) There is a show on Animal Planet this Thursday call Animal Armageddon. Maybe it won't be as bad as Morphed. I can only hope!

The offending art! Amur Leopard Woman

This is the offending art that was branded mature on Deviant Art. She's covered in short hair... there are no actual nipples, I've seen way worse on TV! I had at least 7 other images that are done in a similar fashion and those were left alone... prudish right wing bible thumper perhaps?

I watched Morphed last night on NatGeo. It was so bad an in-accurate and misleading I couldn't watch them all. I'll do a post about it later with some art.

Yes you too can hunt pterosaurs in the congo!

I found this on Stupid Evil Bastard, it's from Objective: Ministries.

It's actually a parody site, but it's funny! Here are a few examples:

"Velociraptors: Today terrorize the goat herders of Puerto Rico and are rumored to guard the remains of the Ark on Mt. Ararat. They have become vicious since the Fall as the result of the effects of genetic entropy, making them too dangerous for the sort of interactive public experience we have in mind."

"Equipment & Supplies

Besides supplies that are common to all animal capture expeditions, we have determined that we need the following special equipment:

  • Metallic pterosaur effigies based on Biblical designs (for herding into traps.)
  • Frankincense smoker (to disorientate the animals for capture.)
  • Nets, including large butterfly-style nets for use on smaller rhamphorhynchi.
  • Calming hoods (designed based on Deluge-era pterosaur skull remains.)
  • Reinforced bird cages.
  • Climate controlled egg transport containers.

Technical note: the Project Pterosaur logo should be placed prominently on all equipment where possible so as to promote the project name and associated educational and witnessing programs with the dissemination of expedition images. We will be consulting with logo placement experts from NASCAR for technical assistance."

That made my day!

Art sent me a link to this new giant extinct snake!

I thought it would be cool to pass along, knowledge is power! Thanks Art!

Harry Potter!

This was drawn in 2007 for a proposal that never got approved. I chose a scene from book 6 since no movie had been done yet. Jess and I are big Potter fans and have read all the books repeatedly.
