This Sunday; Im too tired!

Sorry, exhausted. I haven't found anything good or what not so here are a few images I got from here, with DINOSAURS!

If you look closely, Jesus doesn't appear to be sitting, he's floating, magic! Or bad art... but since it's sunday, Magic! And of course the awesome logic of Archologists has given us proof that dinosaurs survived the flood because the 'know'.... RIIIIIGHT! I guess they haven't talked to Ancient Alien Theorists yet, they 'know' really it was all Aliens! You don't need evidence when you 'know'. My head just exploded...

And of course what would have actually happened on the ark. Fricken propane stoves! I think that T. rex is from The Last Dinosaur.... It's a good thing they only eat coconuts or Noah would be screwed, maybe that's why they had small arms, just damaged from that explosion! I just solved something, because I 'know' I'm right;P!!!!

Why the dinosaurs this week? Terra Nova... I watched it last Monday. Carnotaurs were OK, the 'Slashers' were far to fat to be leaping around like that. The story.... I think it has the most cliches in movie history, all that was missing was the pregnant mother! Horrible, boring and I was hoping all the humans would be eaten. Seriously, eaten. That's 2 hours I won't ever get back! Well At least Doctor Who was good:)

Ok, back to work!

Best,

Brett

My brain kind of locked up after reading "Even though we know dinosaurs survived the flood" but that just left me with fun pictures.

If this had been presented as a "what if" book, that could be a fun thing for kids. Except maybe for the pushy coloring hints.

Was Terra Nova really that bad? Even with Spielberg behind it and all (although anyone who has seen "Taken", that mini series he did about aliens around 9 years ago, knows that he can have just as many failures as hits) I expected the series to be some bit good. Maybe it will improve, hopefully. If not...

Although it does star Jason Mara, and his last couple of TV shows have gone belly up.

I could have swore the bible said Jesus rode a donkey...Oh well maybe the raptor ATE the donkey...or maybe something was lost in translation,I dunno(head shake)
And if Jesus actually did ride a "dinosaur" which I am unofficialy naming "Christodeisaurus" I think the whole cleansing of the money changers from the temple would have gone quite a bit different.

Dinosaurs do not appear in the Bible, so this is arguing against speculation and not a common Christian belief. I guess you could say sort of in a general sense they appear because God created everything, but the ark and such is just one view of certain Creationsists. The cartoons are funny though. I like the one from a few years ago Brett posted of Jesus holding a baby Raptor, that one tops these two in terms of quality.

"Dinosaurs do not appear in the Bible"

Not that I'm defending the Bible Steve, but that statement is up for interpretation. There is a theory floating around out there that when the bible speaks of leviathan and Behemoth that it was referring to dinosaurs. It's also been mentioned that one could substitute Dinosaur when ever dragons, serpents etc were mentioned as well.
As for not being common Christian belief,I would have to research it a bit but I would bet it's more common than not.So if you want to assert that your understanding of the magical fairytale is more correct than someone else, that's your right. And if you don't believe me I have a Scotsman friend who would be willing to back me up ;)

Thanks Fatboy you are exactly correct. Leviathan and Behemoth are the two terms in the Bible which some believe are actually dinosaurs. Some do, some don't; it isn't a matter of doctrinal centrality to the Christian message. It is a secondary concern, it neither proves or disproves the creation story or the validity of the Christian faith.

Actually I agree with Steve, it wasn't until I was around 20 that even heard mention of Dinosaurs and the Bible. I'm not sure what version it was but it had something like "and other things (or creatures.)" Which could mean anything. In fact that was one of the things that bothered me about the Bible, no mention of dinosaurs. My college roommate showed me late one night when we were all talking.

I think the dinosaurs on the Ark thing is from the Ken Hamminites. I have also heard that they all drowned in the flood..

Which image was that Steve? I have an Atheist one for this week that, if you think about it, can go either way, it can insult everyone, hurray!:)

Leviathan would have to be a marine reptile... MAYBE a spinosaur if you wanted to make some sort of dinosaur claim. One of those huge fish from WWD would be a better fit if you ask me;) Behemoth I believe can also be translated as an elephant... the large tail actually being the trunk. It is fun to speculate as to what it might be.

One thing that puzzles me about the question of "are dinosaurs mentioned in the Bible' is that they would not have been called dinosaurs back when the scriptures were written. They would have been large lizardy creatures and animals like anything else. Later translators probably would have had no idea if the original text referred to what we call dinosaurs or to some other critter.

Quick: what known dinocritter best fits the description of the serpent who tempted Eve?

heffison,

One problem with the 'large lizardly creatures' some might have had feathers, so maybe tailed birds for those and something dragony for the others. There is an idea that the bones of certain extinct animals are the basis for cyclops (mammoths) griffons (potoceratops) dragons (dinosaurs.)

2 ideas on the serpent, since snakes have been around since he dinosaurs and actually ate them it really could just be a snake, but the other thing would be some kind of lizard that god curses and removes it's legs... of course there are some lizards with no legs not related to snakes. I don't think they can climb trees. Oh and of curse there are very large worms:) And if you want to go crypto Mongolian Death Worms!

This is the image I was talking about. I printed it out and hung it next to my sons bed when he was very little. He loves Jesus and dinosaurs, so I got a kick out of the fact it was meant to mock Christians but it helped my son not be afraid of monsters at night and also to think Jesus was cool.

Steve,

Ah, the Gurneyish one! Yeah that's a nice painting except for no feathers on the dino:(

I'm not sure of the original intent was mocking on that as I don't see text, if there was mocking that might have been me;P

Did you try Monster Spray? I always thought that was REALLY funny!
