Eocarcharia

Just a quick little scene from the new book I'm working on featuring a newly described dinosaur, Eocarcharia. Found in Africa this guy was only 25 feet long, but is related to some of the larges theropods that ever existed. It was found in the same geologic levels as Suchomimus (in the background) and the Abelisaur Kryptops (not colored yet.)

Now my cyber-stalker anthonyallen, has been making some comments on how bad my art is and how I need to learn to color. But he never made comments on the Homosexual Rights post. I mean common could I have given you a bigger sign with which to 'slam' me?!? Chris even gave a great assist by saying some people think I'm gay! COME ON MAN!!!!

After that lapse I have come to one conclusion...He's in love with me. He wants some good ole man on man love from his favorite comic artist. I'm sorry anthonyallen, but I just don't have those sorts of feelings for you. I hope you understand. Be strong.

Bestest,

Brett

Yeah Brett, you need to start learning to draw. When are you going to get to that? ;p

You know all those past jobs with the industry's biggest names, titles, companies and legions of followers were just a fluke.

Is this book your releasing a dino book or a book of your comic art? Crossing fingers on the comic art ;)

Right after I learn to color;)

Sorry it will be a dino book. after that an Anthro book and then maybe some sort of fantasy thing.

Plus I don't own most of the art I've done for comics so it would be a pain to try to get everything approved and then I'd have to pay for the use...

Brett

I really enjoy the 'potential energy' this illustration offers. Your linework alone is enough to amaze me, yet the coloring work sets a new standard. Haunting. Even the skill utilized to center the 'Carchar is remarkable.

-You work well with 'cool' color tones.

[-You sure you won't hookup with Anthonyallen? He might be a keeper! All those wonderful moments you can romantically share your time; you teaching him how to draw and color. How romantic...]

I'm not real happy withthe colors but they'll do. I have like 100 more to color so I can't be THAT picky;)

Thanks!

Your too hard on yourself. i like the colors. i especially like the way you highlighted the darker colors with the lighter ones to make the skin seems more realistic in light.

your no isanove :) but it will do.

can't wait for the book.

Fie on that guy I say. He's probably jealous at your dino-coloring abilities. :) I commented at DA, but I'll do it here too...seeing as this piece is JUST THAT AMAZING. lol

Great work! Again...fie on him.

well at least you get comments on your work? even if it is stupid ignorant rantings... that counts right?

as for the colouring, looks fine to me; but then again im no artist. do you use tablet for the colouring? I thought the Mrs. did the colouring; hence the husband-wife combo.

actually, the neck looks kinda massive, full crop :D?

draw us some ceratops >:)!

We use a Wacom tablet. Jess isn't really into coloring anymore so to make sure my dinosaurs are done right I had to learn how to do it myself. Jess is supposed to color the Anthro stuff for that book:)
