Am I Being Paranoid?

A few years ago a tpy company named Papo came out with this Allosaurus. Some people had asked me if I was involved. I was not, it just kind of looks like my designs and the designs of a paleo artist named Todd Marshal. I wrote it off to chance but it is possible I was an influence. No biggie.

I was on Amazon today and I saw this... also from Papo. Now the armor is different from what I do, but the feet and stuff look similar, even the head with the earrings looks familiar. Now it could be coincidence, but I'm wondering if someone from Papo is reading my blog. I find it odd that they would do a dinosaur similar to mine and then an anthro similar to mine... hmmmmm. I mean the Rhino looks a lot like mine, even the feet are the same. You can see more here.

Stargate SG-1 Vala Cover!

Dynamite finally solicited this so I can post it! I'll be doing 5 covers for this mini, I'm finishing up cover #2 right now:) Claudia Black (who I adore) is a very hard person to draw, I don't think I got it right on this cover (I think the eyes are screwed up.) But it was fun to draw one of my favorite characters from one of my favorite series of all time! Also, there's a Cry Wolf cover I did, but I already posted that and they started soliciting the Dresden Files again!

Creatress from the Charcol Lake

Or something like that. Not feeling very witty today. I'm also not sure if this counts as an Anthro or not? Anyways, I'm working on a bunch of covers, still waiting on the go ahead for the next issue of Dresden. Hopefully Dynamite will start posting my Stargate covers soon:)

Blue Beetle!

When I first got into comics at age 13 (a bit late I know) I mainly got Marvel stuff, particularly the X-men and related titles. I didn't read a lot of DC books, they mostly just didn't interest me. But, of the few DC books I read one was the JLI. These were not like regular comics, these were funny as hell. They didn't really do anything but crack jokes and eat Oreos, but the jokes always had me laughing. My 2 favorite characters were Blue Beetle and Booster Gold, so when I was talking to Derek Ruiz the other day he mentioned the new Booster series and about Booster going back in time to fight evil with his old buddy Blue Beetle (now 'dead'.) I just felt like trying my hand at Beetle again so here you go!

Percy Jackson

No, I'm not doing a comic based on this, although I'd love to, the rights are already sold to some company I never heard of. But this would be my interpretation of the character, just a quicky, but I've been reading the books lately (I quite enjoyed them, still need to get the last one.) I'm a big mythology fan so these books were right up my alley. If you like Greek mythology take a peek, they are fun easy reads, I usually get through one in an afternoon.

Last Page of Vampire Huntress

I'm only doing the first issue of this book, I just won't have time with Dresden. This one issue took forever! Anyways here's the last page.

More sketches tomorrow or the next day. A fish girl, a superhero gone now but not forgotten and Percy Jackson!

Bad Design...

Sometimes a design just doesn't quite work. This was supposed to be a 'survivor' for the Zombie women story, but I just don't like it. So it will be scrapped. It happens they can't all be winners;)

Beware of Zombies!

An idea I had for a character a few months ago. I finally got around to drawing it the other day. She's a zombie hunter, sort of like Buffy, only after the zombies over run the world.

Captain America Movie

I'm not a Captain America fan, he's far to blah for me, to good, to perfect. Sort of like Superman Lite. Anyways they are just about to cast the lead in the new movie. If Marvel does it right and makes some interesting changes it might be good. SO who would you want to see as Cap? I had thought about Sam Worthington of Avatar fame but someone on Scifi Wire mentioned Captain Awesome from Chuck. I think that would be a great choice, and might be able to capture a bit of the magic that Iron Man did. At least we know Cap. Awesome can do comedy;)

Anyways I did a quick sketch with a slightly modified costume yesterday. Enjoy!
