For Chris's Mom;)

Hi Chris's Mom! This is from issue #1 page 3:)

Sorry Chris, I don't have any hot chicks done right now:)

Best,

Brett

Others with some common sense...

Sometimes I fell we're the only people on the planet left with common sense. Luckily I occasionally read the blog Dispatches from the Culture War. It's a fun blog that has some sense. I read this today:

Gays Want Political Influence; Film at 11

I'm tired of hearing of this 'choice' they make being gay. We know this is a lie. These people are just wired a bit different, no biggie. So they have sex with member of the same sex, who cares, if your not gay you have nothing to worry about. Of course they want to be heard, everyone does.

I don't think you can have a opinion on this if your not gay, you can't ever know what they actually feel or are compelled to do. So stop trying to force your beliefs on them! Even if it is a choice (which I don't believe, the facts are pretty clear. We have a number of animals that also seek same sex relationships, bonobos, dolphins and goats to name a few) who cares? It's their lives, they can do as the please, it hurts no one. Oh and the child molesters are almost exclusively strait, except for the children.

And I'm done;)

Best,

Brett

I was pretty happy with this one. I usually hate these things.

No rulers or French curves on this baby, just screwed up my eyes for a while;)

Theiving fool!

So I was cruising DA (in a good way;)) and I noticed this:

Silver Surfer

For all my longtime fans if you've read the Heroes Reborn Fantastic Four you'll recognize it (it's from a splash page in Issue 8,9 or 11.) I told the guy it was stolen and was told to prove it. Well I don't keep those damn comics (the dogs eat them) and Google and yahoo was no real help. So if you have the issue could you scan it or link me to a scan of it so I can make this guy eat some crow;)

Seriously though, I don't own the art or rights to the piece so I can't TOS him or anything. I'm just calling him on the theft;)

Now fly my pretties, fly!

Looks like I'm back, hope you like the new art.

best,

Brett

EDIT: I just received this note from him (word for word, apparently my name is Dumb Ass..cool!)

'first off jim lee drew it not dumb ass'

He's now admitted stealing it just not on his site;)

4 winged dinosaur on Nova

On Tuesday PBS will run a Nova episode on Microraptor, a dinosaur with 4 'wings'. I'm hoping it will be pretty good since most of the dinosaur specials I've seen recently were shall we say, not good. Last Sunday Discovery Channel ran a show called something like Reviving or Recreating the Dinosaurs. It's all about retro-enginering dinosaurs since we most likely will never be able to get enough DNA from them. I actually enjoyed this, they showed that chicken embryos actually have 16 tail vertebra when they start forming but then reduce it to 5 before they hatch, Archeopteryx, the first animal that's called a bird had 15 tail vertebra. They added a protein or something and got the tail to produce 20 or so tail vertebra. Neat, take that creationists! They also managed to grow teeth and they showed the developing hand of a chicken embryo which looks exactly like a theropod hand. The fact that these guys are descended from birds is absolute after seeing this.

I also watched a show on NatGeo about genetics which was really cool, They had naked chickens! No feathers, no scales, just skin. They were really odd to look at. They also had cows with double the muscle mass of a normal animal, these guys were buff! I was really interesting.

Chuck will not showing any new episodes until this fall:( But the Big Bang Theory will start back up with new episodes in March. No word yet on House, Bones or The Terminator. Psych will have new shows in the summer. I have heard nothing about Eureka, hopefully soon.

Here's a Nannotyrannus for your viewing pleasure. Some think it's just a juvenile of T. rex, but the brain shape is very different looking.

Brett

Happy Easter!

The dogs ate my pencil the other day. I got a new one but it's not 'right' so I'm hoping to find another one like my last one today. Wish me luck:)

So a few weeks ago I decided to see what all the hullabaloo was about this book I keep hearing will change my life, is the greatest book ever written, will make me see the light. I'm talking, of course, of the Bible. As I was reading it, I've come across a few things that I'm not sure of or want clarification of.

1. What's the difference between the Tree of Knowledge and the Tree of Life?

2. There are 2 different creation stories, which one is considered the more accurate on?

3. God created light on the first day but didn't create the Sun and moon until later, what is this light?

4. Why did God punish everyone for being evil and bad with the flood, but he has yet to give them any commandments?

5. Are the Nephillum the 'Giants' or are they more like Demigods, human size but great warriors? I read it as the latter.

6. If everything on the earth was killed except the animals/humans on the arc, how are there still Giants later on?

7. After the flood, Noah kills a bunch of the pure animals? Why would you go to all the trouble of saving these animals and then kill them before they can reproduce?

8. IF god is omnipotent why didn't he know what Adam and Eve did when they did it?

9. Adam and Eve have just eaten the fruit (no mention of apples I'm afraid) Now they suddenly see they are naked and are ashamed. So what? I mean they've been wondering around naked for how long?

10. The Lord is mentioned as the highest god. DOes that mean there are others?

11. It appears that Egypt has been around for a lot longer than Man, what's up with that?

12. Why does god punish the humans for making the Tower of Bable? We've been to outer space, no heaven there, I doubt a big tower would have gotten 'higher'.

13. Where does Cain get his wife from? There are only 4 people on the planet at that point?

I'm not exactly looking for answers, it's just my tendency to question things:) But if you have a few let me know.

That's all for now.

Brett

Colorist..again.

GAH!

Well we are currently looking for a new colorst. Georgi had to go back to school (which is really a bummer because he was doing a great job!) So we sent out some art to some colorists too see what we could get.... Well, we got bupkis. I was really not pleased with what we got, since it went to a good coloring/art studio and it was ....unsuitable. So we're currently looking for another colorist. We need quality work so don't waste your time if you've never colored comics before. But, if your interested send me a link via the comments:) I'm looking for a painted look. Similar to the dinosaurs and the cover to #1, cuts and grads will be mocked and pointed at since they look REALLY bad on my art, I know not why.

Well, have at it then:)

Brett

Just some lame ol' dinosaur;)

These guys are weird:)

Happy Darwin Day!

From wikipedia:

'Darwin Day is a recently instituted celebration intended to celebrate the anniversary of the birth of Charles Darwin on February 12, 1809. The day is also an opportunity to highlight Darwin's contribution to science and to promote science in general.'

So, raise a glass to honor the man who revolutionized modern science, including: paleontology, anthropology, biology and modern medicine. He might not have gotten everything right but he laid the ground work for others:)

T.rex

Some more dinosaury goodness;)

For the new book, sort of a companion piece to another picture, I don't want to post them all, what's the point of a book then?

They recently discovered a new theropod called Orkoraptor (named for a river NOT the He-Man character;)) I can't find ANY art or skeletal info so I'm going nuts looking for this stuff. It's a giant (6-7 meter) Compsaugnathus from Southern S. America.

Also the writer strike might be at an end (YEAH!) Hopefully Chuck will be on again soon:)

Another from over the pond.

This is my all time favorite TV comedy, the US version was pitiful compared to it. This is a clip from my favorite episode. I give you Coupling and Jeff:

Enjoy,

Brett

Fecken Funny!

If you've never seen Father Ted and you have a good sense of humor pick up the DVDs. Here's a clip that's a favorite of mine:)

Very funny! Remember this is a comedy, don't take it too seriously.

Brett

Please end it now!

Found this the other day:

PETA compares AKC to the KKK

PETA compares AKC to the KKK -- how's that for a bunch of inflammatory acronyms?

'A press release from People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals hit my email box this morning, announcing that a television ad "showing a hooded Ku Klux Klan member making himself right at home at a meeting of the 'purebreds'-only American Kennel Club will hit New York TV stations just in time to make the hair stand up on the heads of participants featured in the annual telecast of the Westminster Dog Show."

The rest can be found here.

IF you are a member or are thinking of becoming a member of PETA, please shoot yourself now, your presence on the planet is no longer needed. Thank you.

This Bugs the Shit Out of Me: The Day After Tomorrow

So the movie the Day After Tomorrow is on FX last night, and even though we've seen it before we watch it for a bit while we're waiting for House to come on. I know this isn't a scientifically accurate movie, but there's just some stuff that bugs the living shit out of me:

They burn the books in the library instead of burning all the chairs, tables, and banisters that would have burned longer and put out more btus. I'm small, sickly and weak and I could still break up a chair if I were freezing.

They don't cover the bloody windows. Anyone who has lived in a vehicle or badly insulated house will tell you that a ton of cold will come through the glass. Cover the windows! You can use all those damned books.

Note to Hollywood: please do not make any more CGI wolves until you can do it properly. Thank you.

Fankenstein #2 cover

Not sure if I should be putting this us. But It's been approved and everything so what the hell. I can always take it down later.

Well I didn't get any really good/way off answers to my last post. I was looking for more things like Atheists are:

Perverts, Child molesters, rapists, practice beastiality, are unintelligent heathens who should be stoned to death. All of which I have heard before. I was just kind of looking for reasons why some of these things are assumed.

How about another question? What do you think of Biofuels? Personally they are not ready yet and they should NOT be using food for them. Have you tried to buy corn oil lately? A gallon has almost doubled in the last year. People in Mexico were rioting because the price of corn went so high they couldn't afford their tortia/taco shells. These were cheap food stuffs that the poor could afford. Now their food is too expensive. Biofuel's sound great to me. They are trying to make fuel from the cellulose of plant stems and the like but until they do our food supplies are going to suffer, not a smart thing.

Well that's it for not. Almost done with Frankie #1:)

Best,

Brett
