First things first-God does not have a sliding scale of morality. There is perfect holiness and then there is sin.

We aren’t God and God is not us, so even though man would like to use a sliding scale we have to go by God’s rules. Don’t like them? That is fine, but don’t reject them and also try to change them. Reject them as they are. 100% perfect and holy or fallen man guilty of sin.

Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

So all sin in punishable by death. Again, this seems harsh until you look at sin as it is shown in the Bible. Sin results in separation from God. God is the source of life. Remove yourself from the source of life and you get death.

What was the first sin recorded in the Bible? Eating from the tree of knowledge of good and evil. What did that look like? Apple, orange, peach, a personal sized watermellon? Who knows, but the act of eating fruit is not normally sinful, what made this instance sinful was going against what God had said to do. What was the punishment? Death and separation from God. Of course God immediately puts into action a plan to redeem mankind, but the thing to note is sin always equals death.

I could go through each of the “moral” questions and explain their purpose and why they are in the Bible, but I don’t know if there is any real interest.

Steve, did God take your sense of humor when you gave him your 'soul'

Come on it's funny. You can't honestly think it's OK to be put to death for stealing a loaf of bread to feed your family can you? You think spending eternity in agony and fire is justified? For a small offence like masturbating, it hurts no one? Can you not see why SOME people might start thinking your god is mean and unfair?

You're welcome to post about how evil we all are if you want, but that's up to you.

Best,

Brett

That's hysterical. I am not very godly at all. This brings up such a good point. I find it similar to one of your other posts about the old testament being a fairy tale. I believe the Bible is a load of hoo haa, but some people are into that kind of thing.
